trouble spots that create poor utilization and increase overall equipment requirements and needless
expense. Reviewing customer dwell can also point out corrective action needed to adjust planned
customer usage versus forecasted usage. The reductions in inventory carrying costs that result are

The link/node data captured through Modaligistics' equipment tracking system is also made available
to populate the fleet sizing tool. This application utilizes historical data, forecasted demand, and
user defined business rules to calculate equipment requirements for each lane. Excess equipment can then be
freed up for additional revenue generation or can be removed from the fleet to reduce capital and
lease expense.
